Jamaica hotel to meet with worker seen in fight with guest An employee of a Jamaica hotel, who was seen in a viral video fighting with a guest who threw liquid in her face, is to meet with hotel management next week. According to the Jamaica Gleaner, Communications manager at RIU Jamaica Marc Miralles Pons said the hotel will have a meeting next Thursday with the member of staff who was seen in the video The video, which has been circulating on social media platforms, showed the guest throwing liquid at the employee, who, according to the Gleaner, works as a bar assistant manager. This angered the employee, who reacted by pushing the guest. “We are following our internal protocols, following the premise of not leaving our workers alone in this type of situation. Next Thursday, we will have an internal meeting with her to let her explain to us her version regarding what happened,” Pons told The Gleaner. He added that the employee was a “very good worker” who has been at the hotel for nine years.

Marsha Barrett FIRSTLY: Did anyone saw how the worker had her hands under her arm the whole time the guess was in her face shouting? That was control because she did held her composure all that time. At this point all company rules were in effect. Thats the first thing managment needs to look at.
SECONDLY: The only time that young lady reacted was when that drink was subsequently thrown in her face. Thats her boiling point or point of reaction. She is human and knows her selfworth.
THIRDLY: If she worked for Rui for 9yrs, thats a dedicated worker.

Steps taken should be self-defense if necessary and seek management immediately. Despite the circumstances leading up to the drinks/face incident the worker breached policy by attacking the guest, especially from behind. That was not self defense. I'm sorry if she was stressed and underpaid but I'm sure management would have taken her side had she went to them about the abusive guest. She lost her cool and will probably lose her job Like · Reply · 23m Charismatic Yvette She should still be beating her ,this thing has been going on for years in hotels and on a whole the tourism sector, and because of policies put in place by these establishments these guests or patrons think they can get away with any ór everything. I was there for 17yrs I know. These days it's getting worse,.and the staff are underpaid.. Like · Reply · 36m Herbert Campbell By the way, that was a rass bax. Hair piece all fall off.
